Research and Professional Experience
  • • Antigen epitope discovery and characterization, and application to epitope-based vaccines and di-agnostics: Working in collaboration with Dr. Vladimir Brusic, Head, Knowledge Discovery Department, Institute for Infocomm Research, Singapore, we are using immunoinformatic programs for prediction of human and mouse T cell epitopes, and applying these methodologies to the development of epi-tope-based vaccines and diagnostics
  • • LAMP molecular adjuvant strategy for antigen targeting to the MHC II compartment of antigen presenting cells: A major discovery of this laboratory has been the design of DNA vaccines as a recombinant gene chimera, containing the antigen sequence attached to the lysosome-associated membrane protein (LAMP) that is co-localized with MHC II of antigen presenting cells.
  • •Epitope-based, LAMP chimera DNA anti-virus vaccines: The epitope discovery and LAMP targeting applications have been combined as a platform technology for the development of novel forms of DNA encoded vaccines that will enhance the immune response without additional product formulations. This technology is being applied to vaccines for HIV-1, dengue, influenza, and hTERT.
