Research and Professional Experience
  • My primary research is in social policy; public policy; the socio-political economic forces that shape health policy; and international comparisons of health and social policy.
  • I coordinated a two year research project funded by the European Commission to study the impact of political and social factors on health of the populations of the OECD. The study involved five research themes based in Spain, United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany and Italy. The research produced a book entitled, The Political and Social Context of Health, published by Baywood Publishers in the year 2004.
